JEE Main 2025 Guideline for PwD candidates

Additionally, NTA has issued updated guidelines for candidates with disabilities taking the JEE Main 2025. Candidates in the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories will receive an extra hour, extending their exam time to four hours. Candidates can also request scribes by submitting the necessary certificates.

The guidelines clarify policies on scribe availability and extra time. The notification states: “The term ‘extra time’ or ‘additional time’ will be updated to ‘compensatory time,’ with a minimum of 20 minutes per exam hour for candidates approved for scribe/reader/lab assistant use. Candidates with benchmark disabilities eligible for a scribe will receive a minimum of one extra hour for a three-hour exam, regardless of scribe use. For exams shorter than one hour, compensatory time will be given on a pro-rata basis in increments of five minutes, with no additional time under five minutes.”
