Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, has shared its April 2025 traffic results. The month saw a continuing strong growth, coupled with impressive operational performance.
The airline welcomed 1.7 million passengers during the month, a 21% increase compared to April 2024. This surge reflects Etihad’s ongoing upward momentum as it continues to expand its operations.
Etihad Airways April Performance

Along with a significant year-on-year passenger growth, the airline achieved a passenger load factor of 89% in April. This was up from 84% recorded in the previous year.
This improvement shows strong demand for Etihad’s services, even as the airline increased its fleet size and flight capacity.
So far in 2025, Etihad has carried 6.7 million passengers, a million more than the same period in 2024. These figures position the airline to surpass its goal of serving over 21 million passengers by the end of the year.
Etihad CEO Perspective
Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, expressed enthusiasm about the results. “April was another outstanding month for us, with a 21% rise in passengers compared to last year,” he said. “With nearly 7 million guests in the first four months, we’re on pace for a record-breaking year.”
Neves credited the high load factor to Etihad’s commitment to quality. “Our 89% load factor proves that travelers value our exceptional service, global network, and competitive fares. We’re well on our way to carrying more passengers than ever before in our history,” he added.

Looking Ahead
As the busy summer travel season approaches, Etihad remains focused on growth while ensuring a top-notch experience for its passengers. The airline’s strategic expansion, paired with its dedication to customer satisfaction, continues to drive its success in the competitive aviation industry.
Etihad’s strong performance in April underscores its position as a leading global airline. With ambitious plans for the rest of 2025, the carrier is poised to achieve new milestones while delivering the world-class service its customers expect.
