Bristol & Liverpool To Be Axed from the Lufthansa Network

Bristol & Liverpool are set to be axed from the Lufthansa network, in a blow to the two UK airports and the connectivity options.

This represents the axing of six weekly flights from the UK, with focuses being consolidated into the likes of Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, London and others.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

As it stands, services between Frankfurt and Bristol with Lufthansa will be axed on February 3, which removes five weekly flights from the airport.

On the Liverpool front, this last flight will occur on February 2. The Bristol flight is operated by an Embraer E190 with the Liverpool flight using a CRJ900.

For both airports, this is a blow, although there are other global connectivity options for both airfields.

Amsterdam Schiphol is a good example of this, with KLM operating from Bristol and easyJet operating from Liverpool.

That being said, both airports have been able to consolidate growth with low-cost carriers to other destinations around Europe that also offer this layer of indirect global connectivity.

Either way, work will begin from both sides to get new airlines and new routes into their respective airports over the course of 2024.

All eyes will be on how this progresses.
