An American Airlines regional flight between Akron, OH and Charlotte Douglas (CLT) has declared an emergency.
American Airlines flight OH5320, a Canadair CRJ-702ER from Akron (CAK) declared the emergency with code 7700. The flight is currently on diversion to Cincinnati (CVG).

Flight OH5320 declared the general emergency whilst in the cruise near Charleston and is diverting to Cincinnati (CVG), maintaining FL110 (11,000 feet).

Flight data shows that OH5320 made an on-time departure out of Akron at 08:33 EST today.
The flight continued normally, climbing to FL320 before descending and declaring an emergency. The aircraft squawked transponder code 7700 at 14:00 UTC near Charleston.
At that time, the aircraft then initiated a diversion to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). The nature of the issue is not yet known.

The flight has now left FL110 and is on descent into Cincinnati (CVG), maintaining squawk code 7700.

The aircraft conducting the service is a Canadair CL-600-2C10 Regional Jet CRJ-702, registered N529EA. The regional jet is a 13-year old aircraft belonging to US carrier American Airlines.
It is operated by PSA Airlines under the American Eagle regional subsidiary.

Flight OH5320 now established on final approach for diversion airport CVG, passing through 1,000 feet.
With the aircraft maintaining the emergency transponder code 7700, the nature of the problem is not yet clear.
